Sonia Hanson, Esquire, is an associate attorney at White, Nisar & Hilferty, LLP. Sonia completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she received a degree in Legal Studies and Religious Studies. Sonia went on to attend the University of Minnesota Law School, and graduated in 2015.
During her time in law school, Sonia was active in a number of organizations, including the Black Law Students Association and the Women’s Law Student Association. Sonia was also a staff writer and editor for the Journal of Law and Inequality, a nationally-ranked legal publication. Additionally, Sonia participated in the University of Minnesota’s Business Law Clinic, and worked closely with local entrepreneurs in structuring their business entities and assisting them in various other matters.
Following admission to the New York Bar, Sonia performed general practice and litigation, focusing on landlord and tenant law, contractual matters, and employment disputes. As an associate with White, Nisar & Hilferty, Sonia focuses on matters of labor and employment, and civil litigation.
